Since the early migration of the Chinese in the 18th and 19th centuries, Chinese communities have rooted themselves in different continents of the world. Today, we have witnessed the formation of permanent Chinese communities with several generations of Chinese who have been born and bred in the countries that they identified as home. In these countries, the Chinese communities have excelled in the economic and cultural arena, and increasingly participating in the political environment. At the same time, they have also established regional and global connectivity through professional, economic, social, educational and cultural activities as they come into contact with China, other Chinese and ethnic communities.

In this international conference, we call for papers that interrogate global Chinese, their sense of local identity and their regional and global interconnectivity as confront their sense of belonging with opportunities and challenges in the local and global ecosystem.

This conference welcomes submission of panel and individual paper proposal from multidisciplinary perspective for the following proposed themes:

Role of Belt and Road in Chinese Diaspora and China connection
